Soups for the Snugglers

Whether it’s the cold season or you just want a daily broth to add into your weekly meals, here’s not only one (but two of my favorite) recipes.

Liver Rescue Broth (Anthony William’s ‘Medical Medium: Liver Rescue’)

1 bunch celery,

diced 6 carrots,

diced 1 winter squash (such as butternut), cubed 2 yellow onions, diced

1 inch ginger root, peeled and minced

1 inch turmeric root, peeled and minced

1 cup peeled and sliced burdock root

1 cup loosely packed cilantro

6 garlic cloves, peeled

12 cups water

Here’s the simplicity:

Place all the ingredients in a large stock pot. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil over high heat, and then reduce the heat and simmer for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours. Strain and enjoy as a warm, nourishing broth any time of the day.

For those with an instant pot, you simply put it on soup mode for 2-4 hours.

Here’s my second favorite soup:

Thyroid Healing Broth (Anthony William’s ‘Medical Medium: Thyroid Healing’)

2 sweet potatoes, cubed

2 celery stalks, diced

2 onions, diced

6 garlic cloves

1 inch turmeric root, peeled and minced

1 inch ginger, peeled and minced

1 cup finely chopped parsley

4 sprigs thyme

2 tablespoons Atlantic dulse flakes

1 tablespoon kelp powder

8 cups water

Directions:

Similar to the first soup in the instant pot. Best enjoyed in a pint sized mason jar mug warmed up and sipped throughout the day. Warms me up every time!

If you want to just have the broth and not the veggies, message me and I’ll share with you what I do with it fit for another warm meal.

When there’s a will, there’s a way.

Dr. Kate
